Employment Opportunity:

Our client is seeking a Senior Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner. The ideal candidate should be qualified as a Registered Nurse (B Curr. Or Diploma in Nursing), a Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing, a certificate in Audiometry and Spirometry, a valid dispensing license, a valid driver’s license and 3 years’ experience in managing an Occupational Health Clinic. A valid registration with SANC and SASOHN is essential. The ability to communicate in isiXhosa will be advantageous.

Job description:
• Lead and oversee Medical Surveillance and Employee Wellness Programmes
• Manage and optimize clinic resources, supplies and consumables
• Provide leadership and development to the clinic team
• Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders across the business
• Drive and maintain corporate Occupational Health standards
• Collate data and prepare accurate clinic reports, as required
• Promote employee safety practices
• Identify Occupational Health-related risks and escalate emerging trends
• Participate in the incident investigation and report back to the Health & Safety Committee and other stakeholders
• Ensure the clinic is fully equipped and prepared to respond to all foreseeable medical emergencies

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is a certification program developed by the American Heart Association (AHA). It is designed for doctors, nurses, paramedics and other healthcare practitioners.

ACLS is a 2 day course that will enhance practitioners’ clinical skills while improving team dynamics and communication. This course has practical and theory components and upon successful completion, candidates will receive an ACLS provider card which is valid for 2 years. This course also has an added benefit of 30 CPD points.

ACLS is an essential course for those wanting to pursue careers outside of South Africa on remote sites, cruise ships etc.
