Welcome to Bayradiology. Our practice provides advanced imaging solutions to the medical community A brief overview of the history of our practice:

1980 - Drs.

Bayradiology is the largest Radiological practice in the Eastern Cape and one of the largest group practices in the country. We currently have 230 employees at the practice and have rooms at Greenacres Hospital, St. George’s Hospital, Mercantile Hospital, Greenways Medical Centre, Intercare, and GVI Oncology all based in Port Elizabeth. Also, Cuyler Hospital in Uitenhage and rooms in Grahamstown, Humansdorp, Jeffrey’s Bay and Port Alfred. Vosloo, Grant & Partners was formed from 3 small practices.
1988 - Drs. Visser, Erasmus & Partners was formed from Drs. Vosloo, Grant & Partners and Dr. Geere & Partners.
1990 - Drs. Malherbe, Basson & Partners started at St. Georges Hosptial.
2004 - Dr. Bemath & Partners in Korsten merged with the practice to become Drs. Visser, Erasmus, Vawda & Partners.
2007 - Drs. Malherber, Basson & Partners merged with the practice.
2013 - Name change to Bayradiology

What is a CT Scan?

A CT scan (Computed Tomography) is a medical imaging examination that uses specialised X-ray technology and advanced computer processing to create detailed cross-sectional images of the inside of the body. These images allow doctors to examine organs, bones, blood vessels, and soft tissues with greater clarity than standard X-rays.

CT scans help healthcare professionals diagnose a variety of conditions, assess injuries, and guide appropriate medical management when needed. The examination is performed following referral by a healthcare practitioner.

Advances in Digital Mammography

Breast imaging continues to progress with developments in digital mammography, enabling detailed visualisation of breast tissue and supporting radiologists in the careful evaluation of imaging findings.

At Bayradiology, mammography examinations are performed by qualified radiographers using modern imaging technology in accordance with established clinical and professional standards. These examinations form part of a broader diagnostic process and may be complemented by other imaging modalities, such as ultrasound or MRI, when clinically appropriate.

Early Detection and Breast Imaging

At Bayradiology, we believe that informed patients are empowered patients. Breast imaging plays an important role in supporting doctors in the assessment and investigation of breast conditions when clinically indicated.

In addition to mammography, our practice offers Breast MRI and Breast Ultrasound, two imaging examinations that may be recommended by a referring healthcare practitioner depending on a patient’s individual clinical needs.

Breast MRI
• Provides detailed imaging of breast tissue using magnetic resonance technology
• May be recommended in certain clinical situations where further evaluation is required
• Does not use ionising radiation

Targeted Breast Ultrasound
• Uses sound waves to assess specific areas within the breast
• Often used alongside other imaging such as mammography
• Can assist doctors in further evaluating areas of concern

We also understand that some patients may feel anxious before an imaging examination. During your scan, you are continuously monitored and supported by our qualified radiographers, who are there to guide you and ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day at Bayradiology

We kicked off Valentine’s Day a little early, and it was all smiles across our branches! From the pink golf shirts to the cheerful atmosphere, our teams truly brought love to work.

Bayradiology welcomes Dr. Meyer to our team as an Assistant Radiologist. Dr. Meyer is a qualified radiologist with extensive experience in general radiology, with particular clinical interests in mammography and CT imaging. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate medical training at the University of Stellenbosch (Tygerberg Campus) and has gained valuable experience working in the public-sector radiology setting.

Her appointment further strengthens our diagnostic capabilities and underscores our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality imaging services to our referring clinicians and patients.
