The strength of our immune system diminishes naturally as we get older, making us more susceptible to the serious complications of viral and bacterial infection.

Vaccines like those that offer protection against pneumococcal disease go a long way to reduce complications, hospitalisation and even death.

Chat to one of us, or your doctor, especially if over the age of 60 and/or suffering from chronic conditions such as asthma , auto-immune diseases and cancer. Lifestyle, especially smoking, is also a red flag.

Few things put fear in a mother's heart than when a baby is feeling out of sorts and the doubt whether this can be managed at home, or whether you need more focused medical care.

The wonder of Creation is that a mother and baby share an extraordinary bond that allows Mom to feel and notice what the baby cannot express.

So, trust your instincts and feel safe in the knowledge that your nurse, pharmacist and doctor are on your team, whenever they're needed.
