Description:
Medical Forum Theatre – the Eastern Cape’s first private day hospital – has a longstanding history within the metro. Founded during the 1960’s by Dr Johan du Toit (now retired), its legacy continues to avail general theatre space to other medical practitioners for day case surgeries. The team of medical professionals at the Eye and Laser Institute set out to create a Centre of Excellence for Ophthalmology care in the Eastern Cape through the Eye and Laser Institute, with a strong focus on day surgery.

“The entire value chain is focused on efficiency and quality nursing care,” said Dr Andries Marais, managing director. Uncompromising service and high quality nursing care ensures that patients are discharged within three to four hours, depending on the procedure. In addition to the ease of not having to stay for a long period of time, patients also find the experience of entering the Medical Forum Theatre less daunting than a large hospital. We’re Hiring: Registered Nurse – Ward

Join our team and help deliver safe, quality patient care in a professional Day Hospital environment.

What you’ll do:
✔️ Provide and promote cost-effective, high-quality patient care
✔️ Assess, plan, implement, and supervise patient care
✔️ Deliver evidence-based nursing practices
✔️ Participate in Clinical Governance
✔️ Perform nursing duties in accordance with SANC, DOH & National Core Standards

What we’re looking for:
✔️ Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
✔️ Diploma in General Nursing
✔️ Current SANC registration
✔️ Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
✔️ Post-operative & surgical experience essential
✔️ Private hospital experience advantageous
✔️ Strong skills in all basic nursing procedures as well as procedures specific to the operating ward environment.
