Hi 👋 I’m Rynhardt Gerber founder of WTF - a strength and conditioning gym based in Port Elizabeth 🇿🇦 I help people build real, functional strength through training that works. 📱Online programs launching soon. I started WTF back in 2015 with a simple goal: to help people train better, move better, and build strength that actually matters. With a background in Human Movement Science, years of playing sport, and over a decade of coaching experience, I’ve seen how confusing the fitness world can be. My mission is to cut through the noise and get back to basics - using fundamental movements and structured training to develop real, lasting strength 💪

WTF is a physical gym first, with a strong focus on strength and conditioning. Whether you're training for performance, injury resilience, or everyday strength, this is where you come to put in the work 🏋️‍♂️

The 7 movements everyone should master 💪

I’m a big believer in mastering the basics when it comes to strength training. Over the last 10 years I’ve worked with athletes and everyday people - and no matter your goal, it always comes back to these fundamentals. Before lifting heavier or adding variety, it’s important to build a solid foundation.

These are the 7 core movements I teach - the fundamentals that form the base of every strong, functional body:

1. Squat
2. Deadlift
3. Shoulder press
4. Pull-up or pulldown, if you can’t do a pull up (yet 😉)
5. Farmer’s carry
6. Bench press
7. T-bar row

If you’re just starting out, focus on these. Once you feel confident, challenge yourself with heavier weights, slower tempo, or more advanced variations.

I’ll be sharing more on my 7 fundamentals and tips on how to perform each one safely and effectively in future videos.

Master these, and everything else falls into place.
That’s the foundation of my training philosophy - simple, functional, and built to last 🔥
