Brain Gain Walmer - Summerstrand - Miramar

Brain Gain Walmer - Summerstrand - Miramar Brain Gain training is designed to help people improve their attention allowing them to focus on what is important.

Brain Gain training is designed to help people to improve their attention so they can focus on what is important. At Brain Gain we help individuals to reach their full potential in life. We use neurofeedback to help people with ADHD/ADD and other attention problems. We also offer neurofeedback peak performance training for people without attention problems who want to reach the top of their class, sport or profession. Young people with attention problems often struggle with mathematics and languages at school, and we therefore also provide extra tuition using a government-approved program. All or clients complete the locally developed TESCA assessment to test their attention, screen for emotional and specific learning problems, and monitor progress. A psychiatrist reviews the results and recommends neurofeedback training and/or other options. We have gained a wealth of experience since introducing neurofeedback to South Africa in 2001, and in the last year alone (2012) we helped more than 3000 people through our more than 40 training centers. Please follow the links above to find out how we might be able to help you or your child.

In Brain Gain Neurofeedback Therapy, we work with the prefrontal cortex, thus we address and treat issues relating to ADD/ADHD and concentration. It is also the area where attention and behavioural problems are said to begin – MRI scans have shown that most attention problems show a low level of oxygenated blood flow through the prefrontal cortex.

Fantastic tips and strategies for kids who have executive function deficits, as so many of our children do. Also, when you create a checklist, it may have to be a visual one, with pictures, especially if they are younger. Kids who think in pictures have an easier time if they can see a sequence of tasks rather than try to remember them, or have them written in words.--Nancy
