Hearing loss affects over 1.5 billion people globally, and the sobering truth is that nearly half of all cases are preventable.

Here are our top clinical tips to protect your hearing:
👂 Keep volumes safe — Follow the 60/60 rule: listen at no more than 60% volume for no longer than 60 minutes at a time.
🔇 Protect against noise — Prolonged exposure to sounds above 85 decibels causes permanent hair cell damage in the inner ear. Use ear protection at concerts, construction sites, or loud workplaces.
💊 Mind your medications — Certain antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs can be ototoxic (harmful to hearing). Always consult your doctor before long-term use.
🩺 Get regular hearing screenings — Early detection is key. Audiological assessments can identify changes before they become permanent.
🚫 Avoid cotton swabs in the ear canal — This can compact wax and damage the delicate eardrum. Let ears clean themselves naturally.

As of today we welcome Siphokazi to our team.
Menize Clark , is moving on and starting elsewhere.
Menize, who has been with us and basically started from scratch 10 years ago, leaves a legacy behind- shoes that need to be filled. Menize was an incredible asset to our rooms and it is sad to see her go. She is moving on to another doctor and will surely bring her passion and care to those rooms and the patients there too. We wish her all the best and may she be happy in her new place of work.
Siphokazi will fill in where Menize left off. We ask you to give her time to adjust and be patient when things might take a slight bit longer than you're used to.
We trust that in no time Siphokazi will have everything running, just the way it should be.
