Brain injury is the most devastating disruption in a person’s life and also affects the lives of the injured person's relatives. Since the potential for normal development is diminished after brain injury, the uncertainty of that person's future causes a cloud of depression and pain which envelopes everyone who associates with him or her. From birth we discover new skills and develop a fuller understanding of the world around us. For children with disabilities this process isn't so easy. It is difficult for them to make sense of the things we take for granted. Reinhardt’s Place exists to help these children reach their full potential and live a fulfilling and personally more rewarding life. Reinhardt’s Place is an organisation whose profile is growing and with a unique approach in this field; to make a difference with love and care for all persons in South Africa in all age brackets and races who are suffering from some form of brain damage. What’s in it for our children and what can you offer that they are not already getting? We offer over 50 years of combined experience, a wide range of expertise from many different disciplines and have helped many families over the years. We are dedicated to looking at the whole child and the family situation and not just at any one medical condition. We at Reinhardt’s Place know how difficult it is to care for a disabled person on a full-time basis. We know the repercussions of such a situation for all the parties concerned only too well and we did extensive research on the subject.

His name was ANDRIES...He was the beloved "forever child" of his family.
He was surrounded by the unconditional love and care of his family and yes, he truly thrived in their embrace.
Andries arrived at his Heavenly destination many years ago, but the memories and love for him are held dear in his sister HESTER HOLTZHAUSEN'S heart, as well as the entire Holtzhausen family of LARRY'S RESTAURANT in Uvongo.
Andries, I am sending you a huge, very special hug from everyone at Reinhardt's Place.
Resulting from the precious memories of Hester's beloved brother, Larry's Restaurant has been supporting Reinhardt's Place
since 2005.
Today, we are not only treasuring memories of Andries, who lived a fulfilled life, with the unwavering support of his family. We want to commend the Holtzhausen family, but particularly Hester, who is the epitome of a sister, of whom every intellectually challenged person is in dire need.
It is my heartfelt wish that this example of unconditional love, protection and unwavering support for Andries will speak to the hearts of families who have an "Andries" as brother, sister or child.
May Hester's unfailing love and support for her beloved brother resonate in hearts everywhere.
On behalf of our residents, we want to convey our sincere appreciation to Otto and Hester Holtzhausen, Liam and Twanette, who once again managed to bring such joy to our "forever children" with the wonderful Christmas Party,
which they enjoyed tremendously.
