Cato Emergency Consultants Cato Emergency Consultants (CEC) was founded by Dr. Alide Cato. CEC is an accredited Department of Labour training center.

Dr. Cato graduated as a medical doctor before being employed at various hospitals throughout South Africa. She has involved herself in Emergency Medicine since 2003 and provides Advance Life Support not only in emergency departments but on emergency response vehicles and medical helicopters. She is the managing director of CEC and, together with her team of medical professionals, is responsible for management of the doctors who work in the Emergency Center (EC) of Mediclinic Potchefstroom. The company aims to provide a high standard of service to the residents of Potchefstroom through a multi-disciplinary approach. CEC employs full time doctors who work on a shift basis in the Emergency Center (EC) of Mediclinic Potchefstroom. Our doctor’s special interests include Child Health, Obstetrics and Psychiatry and together they have more than 20 years’ experience. Another discipline of CEC is to provide members of the public, as well as health care professionals with first aid and other advanced training. Our instructors are also accredited with the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Resuscitation Council of South Africa.
