When it comes to sports(running, swimming or cycling ) we need to make sure that our base of our body(glutes) are firing and firing at the right time.
Glutes are one of the most underutilized muscles when it comes to running. If your glutes aren't activating like they should, you're missing out on power and opening your body up for injuries. Glute activation is essential for making your body work efficiently and effectively.
Glute muscles help stabilize your hips and keep your legs, knees, and pelvis aligned.
Having strong glutes will ensure your running mechanics are on point, which makes your running more efficient and helps prevent injuries.
Weak glutes are shown to lead to issues like shin splints, runner's knee, and IT band syndrome.
How do I know Glutes is related to this pain:
1. Person have been to several physicians stretching foamrolling etc and pain has not subside
2. Patient have knee pain on the one side and not knee pain on the other side, (when we look at the mechanics, the glute is not activating on the side that has the problem but when we get the glute activating the Pain gets less
📝Take Note:
Doing squats and glute bridges wont take your pain away because IF your brain is not telling your glute to activate, you are putting strain on your muscles.
