My prayer for you today is: Eph 3:16-17 - I pray that you will be strengthened in the inner man through the power of the Holy Spirit and that He will indwell your innermost being and personality. Hold vast to God's promise in Heb 13:5-6 where God said: "I will not in any way fail you nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsaken or let you down, relax My hold omln you! Assuredly not!

Voel jy alleen en verlate? Voel jy dat niemand jou meer lief het nie? Voel jy moedeloos oor jou verhoudings met mense? Dan wil ek jou vandag bemoedig met hoe God oor jou voel en hoe Hy my bemoedig het:
Jer 31:3 "... Ek het jou nog altyd lief gehad, daarom het Ek jou met geduld verdra." (1983 Vert.) "... Ek sal aanhou om lief te wees vir julle. Julle behoort aan My, daarom hou Ek julle vas." (ABA) I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you." (Amp). Jesus het jou lief net soos jy is en niemand, geen mag of gesag kan jou uit Sy Hand ruk nie.

Wat beteken dit wanneer God sê Hy sal by jou wees? Dit lyk vir ons asof God nie by Josef was toe hy sy ereposisie in Potifar se huis verloor het en onregverdiglik en verkeerdelik beskuldig was en tronk toe moes gaan nie.

Wanneer slegte goed met ons gebeur soos iemand aan die dood afstaan, die beeïndiging van 'n verhouding, siekte, swaarkry, verdriet of watter omstandighede ook al ons tref, is ons ook geneig om te vra waar is of was "dié God by ons" (Matt 1:23)? Hy belowe dan dat Hy is by ons tot die voleinding van die wêreld (Matt 28:20) en dat Hy ons nooit sal begewe of verlaat of in die steek laat nie (Heb13:5)?

Vandag wil ek jou bemoedig deur jou die versekering te gee dat in sulke tye is God juis met ons want Sy nabyheid kan nie gemeet word aan suksesse of mislukkings nie, vreugde of hartseer nie. God is naby die gebrokenes en eendag sal Hy al ons trane afdroog.
God vrywaar ons nie van teëspoed nie, Hy sê in hierdie wêreld sal julle dit moeilik hê, maar hou moed en wees dapper, moenie bang wees nie want die Here ons God is by ons, oral waar ons heen gaan. En Hy sal werklik ons nooit begewe of verlaat of in die steek laat nie. Ons moet net leer om dit te glo en geduldig op Sy tydsberekening te wag...

WHAT IS PASTORAL COUNSELING?
Pastoral counseling is where we assist people on how to cope with life in a meaningful way. Our aim is to instill hope so that faith can become a sustainable ingredient in your coping mechanisms.

Where we help you to articulate life narratives to become linked to the narratives of scripture in such a way that you can discover your identity and human dignity in Christ.
Biblical counseling is not merely the reading of a biblical text but the hermeneutical endeavor to find the appropriate text/narrative within the relevant context. Our aim is to help you in facilitating a spiritual realm for the encounter between the existential realities of life and appropriate God images so that you can be exposed to reconciliation and moments of forgiveness in order to renew your relationships. We wish to celebrate with you the enrichment and enjoyment of life after you become aware of grace and gratitude in the midst of suffering and death.

In short Pastoral Counseling is there to promote life; equip and empower you to live life meaningful (not merely to survive) and prevent you to experience life as a nightmare to be escaped from.
