The Quadratus Lumborum (QL) attaches to:
• The lumbar spine
• The pelvis
• The 12th rib

Two key muscles often responsible are:

🟠 Latissimus Dorsi
A large back muscle that:
• Assists with overhead movement
• Supports posture
• Connects the upper body to the pelvis
• Influences lower back tension

🔵 Quadratus Lumborum (QL)
A deep stabilising muscle that:
• Supports the lumbar spine
• Controls side bending
• Stabilises the pelvis when walking
• Often becomes tight with prolonged sitting or imbalance

When these muscles are overworked or compensating, they can cause:
• One-sided lower back pain
• Tightness when reaching overhead
• Stiffness when standing up
