Matric results can feel like the most important moment of your life — but let me say this clearly: your results do not define you. Whether you passed with distinctions or did not get what you hoped for, this is not the end of the world. A lower mark, a supplementary exam, or even rewriting doesn’t close doors, it opens different doors. Many successful people discovered their path only after a setback. If you’re unsure what to do next, reach out for career guidance. There are many options: TVET colleges, vocational courses, internships, bridging programs and alternative pathways. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Don’t sit with the disappointment by yourself. Join a debriefing session around what you’re feeling, talking about it helps you make sense of it and plan your next steps with clarity.
