Antimikrobiese Bewustheid 💉

Die doel van hierdie veldtog is om bewustheid en beter begrip oor weerstand teen antibiotika te skep.

💉 Wat is antimikrobiese weerstand?
- Dit is wanneer mikroörganismes soos bakterieë, parasiete, fungi en virusse nie meer reageer op medisyne of middels wat poog om dit dood te maak nie. Hierdie infeksies is dan baie moeiliker om te behandel - wat beteken dit is sterker en baie meer gevaarlik (selfs lewensbedreigend) vir die persoon wat die infeksie het.

💉 Hoe en hoekom gebeur dit?
- Die hoof oorsaak is die oorgebruik van antimikrobiese middele, veral antibiotika. Hierdie organismes het die vermoë om te leer hoe die antibiotika lyk, en om hul eie samestelling dan só te verander dat die antibiotika hulle nie meer kan doodmaak nie. Hierdie proses kan weer en weer gebeur wanneer antibiotika onnodig of verkeerd gebruik word. So het iemand dan later bakteriee in hul liggaam wat nie deur enige van die antibiotika wat ons beskikbaar het, doodgemaak kan word nie - en dit is lewensgevaarlik.
Hierdie weerstandige organisme kan ook van een persoon na ‘n ander oorgedra word. Daarom is antibiotiese weerstandigheid ‘n groot krisis in die wêreld!

💉 Wat kan ons doen?
- Antibiotika, antifungale middels en antivirale middels moet met groot versigtigheid hanteer word. Dit moet slegs voorgeskryf word indien dit sonder twyfel nodig is, en ook net gebruik word wanneer dit wel voorgeskryf is aan jou deur ‘n dokter. Dit moet dan ook presies volgens die voorskrif gebruik word. Verkieslik moet spesifieke middels sover moontlik gebruik word in plaas van breë spektrum middels. Dus, as die gebruik daarvan eerder sover moontlik vermy kan word, is dit die beste opsie!
