Incident Type: Armed Robbery Syndicate Apprehension

Area of Operation: Kaalfontein
Summary:
For several months, an armed robbery syndicate has been targeting the Pretoria area in a series of violent early morning robberies. Several of these incidents involved victims being shot, with some tragically murdered during the attacks. Intelligence-led investigations identified possible movements of the syndicate, leading operational units to focus efforts in the Kaalfontein area.
While saturating the area, operational teams heard gunfire originating from a nearby plot. Immediate tactical response
was initiated. Upon arrival, the on-site security guard confirmed that he had engaged with armed suspects on the premises.
Operational Action:
A coordinated tactical plan was executed, involving:
• TMPD Metro K9 Unit
• Proshield Drone Unit
• Proshield Tactical Unit
• Echo-1Tactical Unit
• Cullinan Reaction Unit (CRU)
• Cullinan SAPS
Drone surveillance was deployed to cover the surrounding terrain, successfully locating 2 armed syndicate members attempting to evade capture. Ground units moved in swiftly and executed the arrest without further incident.
Outcome:
• Two syndicate members apprehended
• One loaded firearm recovered
Suspects to be linked to multiple serious robbery cases committed in the early morning hours across Pretoria, including incidents where victims were shot and murdered.
