For many people, getting a loved one to take a hearing test is a daunting task. What do you do when pamphlets about hearing health are tossed in a drawer or the dust bin by those who need it the most? Rather than whining or getting angry, try to gently remind your loved one of the things he or she is missing out on and would love to hear again.

Another idea is to try making hearing testing a group event. Those with hearing loss are less likely to feel uncomfortable if they are accompanied by others who are also going to test.
