Close the Year Gently

As the year winds down, everything you’ve been holding together may come flooding in — the stress, the fatigue, the anxiety. This is normal.

Let the crash happen safely. Trying to “stay strong” for too long only prolongs burnout.

Alcohol causes cancer
Even light drinking can raise cancer risk and cause harm which increases with dose and frequency. It causes DNA damage, impairs DNA repair, promotes chronic inflammation, and disrupts hormones.

Childcare is everyone’s responsibility

Caring for a baby isn’t only a woman’s role; it takes love, teamwork, and shared effort.
Whether it’s changing nappies, feeding, bathing, or giving mama time to rest, every bit of help matters.

Moms, dads, grannies, grandpas, aunts, uncles, neighbours, we all play a part in raising strong, happy children. đź’›

Here’s how you can support:
âś… Help with housework or caring for older children so Mama can rest and feed.
âś… Offer emotional support, listen, encourage, and be patient.
âś… Say NO to violence. Every home should be safe and peaceful.
✅ Show love, stay faithful, and protect your family’s health.
âś… Remember, children grow best when both parents are involved.

When we share the load, we raise healthier babies, stronger families, and a more equal world.

Let’s celebrate caregivers of all kinds, and encourage more men to show up with love, time, and support.

Who helps you the most with childcare? Tag them to say thank you!

One of our own, part of the global healthcare conversations.

As global leaders, policymakers, scientists, and practitioners gather at the WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine 2025, important discussions are taking place around how traditional and holistic systems can be responsibly integrated into modern healthcare.

In this video, South Africa’s Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, gives his address in the opening ceremony — highlighting the opportunity to advance collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based practice, while restoring balance between tradition, science, and the health of both people and planet.

We are incredibly proud to share that Dr Neil Gower, one of our HSA members, is attending and presenting at this global forum.

Not only that - Dr Gower was an integral contributor to the development of the very strategy being discussed at this summit. To see ministers and global health leaders engaging with a policy he helped write is a remarkable moment — not only for homeopathy, but for meaningful representation in healthcare dialogue.

To have a homeopath at the table is significant.
To have one of our members helping shape the conversation is even more powerful.

✨ Dr Gower will also be presenting tomorrow — stay tuned as we share more about his presentation.
These conversations matter — and we are proud to see homeopathy represented with integrity, expertise, and vision. 🌿

🦟 Know More About Malaria this Rainy Season

As the rainy season continues, the risk of malaria increases — especially in South Africa’s three malaria-endemic provinces: Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and KwaZulu-Natal with limited transmission in the Northern Cape and North West provinces.

📍 Malaria is preventable. Malaria is treatable. Act early.

Testing and treatment are not optional. STIs do not "clear on their own." Ignoring testing or delaying treatment increases the chance of HIV transmission and other serious health problems.

STIs cause inflammation, sores, and damage to the ge***al lining. This gives HIV direct access into the body. Even without symptoms, an STI can still increase HIV risk. Leaving STIs untreated puts both you and your partner in danger.

HIV prevention requires action:
• Test regularly for STIs
• Get treated immediately and complete treatment
