Serna Smit Occupational Therapists

Serna Smit Occupational Therapists Occupational Therapy aim to enhance children's holistic development through Sensory Integration tech We treat children aged 3 months to 12 years.

At our practice, we aim to always see children as holistic beings and not just a set of skills and performances. We have a passion for child development and to see children better fit in and function in their roles as scholars, friends and family members - for them to live happy, fulfilled and care free lives, focussed on the journey of discovery and growing up. Apart from individual Sensory Integration therapy, we also offer group therapy of 4 to 7 children per group, to enhance social skills and integrate perceptual and motor abilities. As part of our holistic approach, we do parent and teacher education as well as classroom visits when applicable. Children are referred to our practice due to attention and concentration challenges, low muscle tone, gross- and fine motor difficulties and possible inadequate sensory processing. It is our passion to make a difference in not only the child's individual development, but also his experience of the classroom setting and his/her home environment and family life.
