For our 'dominie', pastors, reverends and pastoral carers

Series: Safety - Story - Strategy in pastoral care

AND join here, our Coram Deo Pastoral Care Leadership Network if you are clergy or part of ministry leadership:

Over the next few weeks, starting next Thursday (February 5, 2026), Dr Francois Wessels (https://coramdeo.co.za/francois-wessels) will be offering a new SSS Lecture Series for our care-for-the-caregiver community: Safety - Story - Strategy in pastoral care.

This series is especially for those of us who hold space for others and sometimes feel tired, stretched, or unsure how to care for ourselves while at the same time caring for others.

Together we will explore:

• Safety – how our nervous system becomes the ground of pastoral presence.
• Story – how the stories we carry are held not only in words, but in our bodies.
• Strategy – how embodied wisdom can guide real, concrete pastoral decisions.
You can expect a mix of gentle teaching, guided practices, and space to reflect on your own context. No prior background in embodiment work is needed – just your honest self and a willingness to listen to your body and the Spirit.
If you sense a longing to serve from a more grounded, compassionate, and whole place, I’d love you to join this journey.

ABOUT CORAM CARE

Coram Care is a special group within Coram Care (Thursday mornings online). Joining this important agenda costs a minimum donation minimum R300 for the entire year. It is not a course, so you don't have to attend everything, but a community of care that deals with varied relevant topics related to CARE - therefore the audience in question like counsellors, pastors, and others in the care-profession or role.

We encourage students to begin with the foundational programme primarily for their own story development—strengthening resilience in the face of life’s challenges and expanding their capacity for growth, purpose, and the pursuit of their goals and aspirations.

As healing takes place, something more unfolds - and we've witnessed this for over 25 years and thousands of students - they begin to see themselves as facilitators of hope in the world we envision—often in ways they never imagined themselves capable of.

This is the two-pronged approach these information evenings speak to: personal restoration that naturally grows into hopeful engagement with others.
