Male vs Female Facial Structure: Why Treatments Differ
Not all faces are created equal, and understanding structural differences is key to achieving natural, balanced results.
In this reel, Dr Chris Giezing explains how male and female faces differ and why treatments are tailored accordingly:
Brow Area
♂️Male: Thick, straight, closer to the eye. Treatments aim for subtle contouring, avoid feminising the brow.
♀️Female: Higher arch, softer lines. Treatments can enhance shape, lift, and highlight subtly.
The brow sets the tone for the whole face; over-lifting a male brow can look unnatural.
Mid-Face (Cheeks & Under-Eye Area)
♂️Male: More angular, flatter cheeks. Subtle volume enhances structure without feminising.
♀️Female: Fuller, rounded cheeks. Treatments enhance lift, softness, and youthful contour.
Mid-face treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all; it’s about preserving natural gender characteristics.
Lower Face (Jawline & Chin)
♂️Male: Strong, angular jaw. Maintain masculinity; avoid narrowing the face.
♀️Female: Softer jaw, tapered chin. Sculpt subtly for balance and definition.
The lower face defines gender identity visually.
Treatments are most effective when tailored to individual structure and aesthetic goals, enhancing natural features while maintaining harmony and identity.
