Today we would like to thank our caregivers. They are all heroes in this difficult times.
One of our caregivers testimony:
Care giving as it is help , direct care given to people who can not help themselves.
When someone hear this term’ a caregiver’ it might sound easy or difficult but it’s actually more about how the people you are helping feels. Their smiles, their happiness, the look of gratitude into their eyes, that “thank you “ it makes my heart to melt. It satisfies me knowing that my time and energy makes a difference in someone else’s life.
I think I started doing care giving since i was 10yrs old. I used to love helping my grandma cutting her nails, doing her hair, scratching her back and massaging her feet. You know there was always a reward for that as you know how our grannies are , a chocolate or a sweet. Little did I know that I was grooming myself for now. Everyday is different every patient is different. With different care and different needs but they all need same love, understanding, help applied differently.
Care giving it’s such a rewarding experience it taught me to have patience with everyone, kids, loved ones and myself. It made me realise that I have so much love in helping the vulnerable ones and it keeps me want to do more and help more patients with different difficulties.
Like these days the whole world in on pause “ lockdown “ . Most of our patients have been on lockdown for weeks, months or years. Imagine the frustration, the stress, why me , they have in their minds. And not forgetting the pain they feel everyday. They miss what they used to in their everyday lives, going out having a glass of wine with their friends or family. It will make them behave different it’s not because they want to but no. It’s actually how they are feeling inside. By being a good listener, friend, someone who understands how my parents are going through at that moment makes my work easier and more interesting. It’s an everyday learning experience it’s for someone with an understanding heart, a loving and caring person.
It might sound easy but it’s not, it all depends on how much love you have in doing what you are doing. Did you open your heart in learning more and understanding the pain others have and knowing you are there for them in every help they need.
I love my job my work. I am a caregiver from heart because I help from inside out. “What you give is what you get” , one of my patients taught me this. And am applying it into my everyday work, duties and at home. - Caregiver 4
