About Therapy & Art

Therapy has an ability to help people work through difficult experiences. By combining therapeutic-and creative processes; physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages can be improved and enhanced. Therapy&Art offers creative workshops to informal and corporate groups, individual therapy sessions for children & adults. Therapy&Art's services are presented by a qualified Trauma Counselor and Social Worker, Nikita Smit. She completed her degree in Social Work(BSW) at the University of Stellenbosch in 2012 and is registered with the SACSSP (South African Council for Social Service Professions). Nikita completed the TIR (Trauma Incident Reduction) and applied Meta-psychology training through Hanna Event Solutions in 2016. In 2018 she completed an Advanced Art Therapy course through Art Therapy South-Africa. Nikita also specialize in socio-emotional assessment with children. She completed her Socio-Emotional Assessment training through FACT (Forensic Assessment Consultation Training) in 2019. She has substantial counseling experience; working with children, adults and disabled people in various educational and social care settings.
