Arthroscopy Training in Action | 16 - 17 February 2026

We had the privilege of being a part of two Hands-on Arthroscopy Training sessions as part of the Biotek Ortho BEST Lab, focused on enhancing knee and shoulder surgical techniques. These workshops united international surgeons from Kenya for intensive, skills-driven training focused on advancing surgical precision and clinical excellence.

🔹 Knee Arthroscopy Workshop
Led by Dr. Ockie van Zyl, delegates focused on varied practical skills and key technique approaches in knee arthroscopy.

🔹 Shoulder Arthroscopy Workshop
Dr. Leon Rajah guided participants through essential shoulder procedures, sharing invaluable practical insights to enhance their surgical precision.

A sincere thank you to Dr. Ockie van Zyl and Dr. Leon Rajah for their expert leadership, and to all delegates for their dedication to the continuous learning and advancement of orthopaedic care.

What a great week of knee-focused learning and collaboration.

On Monday, 24 November, we hosted a focused High Tibial Osteotomy (HTO) Workshop with Dr. Raj Thakrar from the UK (Lister Hospital, London) at Melrose Surgical Centre. The session offered practical insights into osteotomy planning, surgical technique, and clinical outcomes - providing a valuable platform for discussion and knowledge exchange among local orthopaedic surgeons.

The program continued 25 November with the BEST Knee Cadaveric Lab, where Dr. Raj also led the BEST Knee workshop. This hands-on session allowed participants to refine their techniques in a structured, realistic setting, reinforcing key principles in knee reconstruction.

At Anstem Medical, we remain committed to delivering high-quality educational opportunities that support clinicians and contribute to improved patient care.

This past week, we hosted two hands-on arthroscopic training sessions as part of the Biotek BEST Lab program, focused on enhancing surgical technique in knee and shoulder procedures. We welcomed both international and local delegates for practical engagement and shared learning.
