ACSM (Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilization)
• Mobilize community members’ commitment for TB
• Increase awareness and knowledge about TB
• Improve case detection and treatment adherence
• Influence attitude and behavioral change, especially combat stigma and discrimination.
• Engage different stakeholders in all activities.
• Empower people affected with TB
• Capacity building at all levels i.e.; NGO’s, CBO’s, traditional healers and multi-cultural and racial communities
• Forge partnerships with other organizations.
• Distribute TB IEC materials targeting patients, family members, communities and people living with HIV and Aids
• Conduct targeted awareness campaigns in ‘hotspot’ AREAS
• Conduct Imbizos on TB in communities
• Mobilize business sector, employer organizations, employee organizations and other non-government organizations in TB control
• Ensure monitoring and evaluation of ACSM activities
• Conduct annual activities to commemorate World TB Day and Aids Day.
