2nd Africa Conference on Health Effects of Endocrine Disruptors

2nd Africa Conference on Health Effects of Endocrine Disruptors The 2nd scientific conference held in Africa on endocrine disrupting chemicals to discuss the threat

In 2015, the Environmental Chemical Pollution and Health Research Unit in the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Pretoria, South Africa, successfully hosted the 1st African Conference on Health Effects of Endocrine Disruptors. The objective of the conference was to identify the unique environmental exposure and health challenges and opportunities facing Africa. An unique opportunity arose for established scientists and students from Africa to meet local and international scientific experts in this field to provide a platform to learn from each other and to find ways to work together to limit exposures to EDCs in developing countries. Building on this success, the University of Pretoria is proud to announce that the 2nd African Conference on Health Effects of Endocrine Disruptors will be taking place from the 5th-9th November 2017 at the Skukuza Conference Centre in the Kruger National Park, South Africa. The conference will provide a forum for networking and encourage future collaborations between the developed and developing nations. This prestigious event will be hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Pretoria chaired by Dr Natalie Aneck-Hahn

Dear Friends, Colleagues, Students and interested parties,

The 2nd African Conference on Health Effects of Endocrine Disruptors: Sustainable Approaches to Healthy African Communities (4-7 Nov 2019) is approaching at a rapid pace. The conference will take place at Future Africa on the University of Pretoria's Hatfield campus, in Pretoria.

The conference starts with our Student Mini-Symposium on Monday 4 Nov 2019. Our experts have been especially selected for their broad knowledge of the health effects of exposures to endocrine disrupting chemicals. You are also welcome to attend even if you are not a student but are interested in learning more about endocrine disruption.

We are also very pleased to have the Editor-in –Chief of Environmental Health Perspectives, Prof Sally Darney that will be there to discuss “The art and science of publishing your research findings”. A valuable perspective for students and supervisors

The main conference program starts in the late afternoon of Monday 4 Nov with 2 keynote lectures and a meet and greet cocktail.

The next three days promise to deliver a number of very interesting talks from our invited speakers, interspersed with poster presentations, so you don’t want to miss out.
