What Happens If You Don’t Pay Your Premium on Time?
Taking out a policy is just the first step — keeping it active is what protects you and your family. Here’s what happens if your premium isn’t paid:
1️⃣ You’ll get an SMS notification if your premium is outstanding. This is your reminder to pay and avoid suspension.
2️⃣ If you ignore it, you’ll get another SMS saying your policy has lapsed, meaning you lose your cover and benefits.
3️⃣ After a lapse, you usually have 30 days to reinstate your policy by paying the overdue premiums — without a new waiting period.
4️⃣ Miss the 30 days, and you’ll need to rejoin as a new member, starting a 6-month waiting period.
✅ Tip: Pay your premium on time each month to stay fully protected and avoid complications when it’s time to claim.
