Among its commitments to small-holder farmers is our involvement in the Urban Agriculture Programme in partnership with the City of Johannesburg and United Way South Africa. This initiative supports over 200 agricultural cooperatives including over 1000 farmers operating on over 2500 hectares of farm lands in and around the local municipality. The farmers are supported with the provision of land and infrastructure, capacity building, access to market, and institutional coordination.
