Burned by Hot Syrup 🍯🔥 — First Aid

Hot syrup ( like sugar syrup or caramel) can cause serious burns because it sticks to the skin and holds heat.

What to do immediately:
✅ Cool the burn under cool running water for 20 minutes
✅ Gently remove clothing or jewelry near the burn if not stuck
✅ Cover the burn with a clean, non-stick dressing or cloth
Do NOT:
❌ Do not try to pull off syrup stuck to the skin
❌ Do not apply butter, oil, or toothpaste
❌ Do not burst blisters
⚠️ Get medical help if:
* The burn is large or very painful
* It involves the face, hands, or joints
* Skin looks white, blistered, or charred
* The person feels dizzy or unwell
Important:
Sugar burns can be deeper than they appear, so always monitor for swelling and infection.

Head-on-Head Collision 🩺😬 — Teeth Hit Forehead

Kids playing, sports, or accidents can lead to heads knocking together.

If teeth hit someone’s forehead:
✅ Check both people for injuries
✅ Clean the wound with clean water and mild antiseptic
✅ Apply gentle pressure if there is bleeding
✅ Use a cold pack to reduce swelling

For the person whose teeth hit:
* Check for loose, chipped, or painful teeth
* Rinse the mouth with clean water
⚠️ Seek medical or dental help if:
* The cut is deep or won’t stop bleeding
* A tooth is loose, broken, or missing
* There are signs of concussion (headache, dizziness, vomiting, confusion)
* The person loses consciousness

Tip: Even small cuts from teeth can get infected, so clean and monitor the wound carefully.

Snake Bite — First Aid 🐍🩺
A snake bite is always a medical emergency.

What to do:
✅ Stay calm and keep the person still – movement spreads venom faster
✅ Call emergency services immediately
✅ Immobilise the bitten limb (keep it below heart level if possible)
✅ Remove rings, watches, or tight clothing before swelling starts

What NOT to do:
❌ Do NOT cut the wound
❌ Do NOT suck out the venom
❌ Do NOT apply ice or chemicals
❌ Do NOT use a tourniquet

⚠️ Watch for symptoms:
Severe pain, swelling, nausea, difficulty breathing, blurred vision, or weakness.

Important:
If safe, note the snake’s appearance, but do NOT try to catch or kill it.
Prognosis:
The faster medical treatment is given, the better the outcome. 🚑

Bitten by a Dog or Cat?

First rule: Act fast — animal bites can get infected quickly.

What to do immediately:
✅ Wash the wound thoroughly with soap and running water for at least 5 minutes
✅ Let it bleed slightly (unless heavy bleeding) to help flush germs
✅ Apply antiseptic
✅ Cover with a clean dressing

If bleeding heavily: 🩸
* Apply firm pressure and seek urgent medical care.

⚠️ See a healthcare professional urgently if:
* The bite is deep or puncture-like (especially cat bites)
* It’s on the face, hands, or near a joint
* Redness, swelling, warmth, or pus develops
* You don’t know the animal’s vaccination status
* Your tetanus shot isn’t up to date
Rabies risk depends on your area and the animal involved — medical assessment is important.

Prognosis:
Don’t ignore bites. “It was just a small nip” can turn into a big infection later.

Gone Fishing… Hooked Yourself Instead 🩺🎣

Diagnosis:
Fish: Fine.
You: Now part of the tackle box.

If a hook is in your skin:
✅ Stay calm (panicking does not remove hooks)
✅ If it’s shallow and the barb isn’t embedded , gently remove it
✅ If the barb is stuck, deeply embedded, in the face/eye, or near a joint — DO NOT pull it out
➡️ Stabilize it and get medical help

Control bleeding with gentle pressure.
Clean the area once safely removed.
Cover with a sterile dressing.

⚠️ Seek medical care if:
* It’s deeply embedded
* Severe pain or heavy bleeding
* Signs of infection later (redness, swelling, pus)
* Tetanus shot not up to date

Prognosis:
You may not catch fish… but at least you caught something 😅🎣

Rainy Road Reminder 🌧️🚗

Wet roads = longer stopping distances + slower reaction time.

Safety Prescription:
* 🚗 Slow down — speed and rain don’t mix
* 📏 Increase following distance
* 💡 Turn headlights on
* 🛞 Check tyres & brakes
* 📱 No phone distractions

If there’s an accident:
* Ensure scene safety first
* Check for breathing & bleeding
* Control bleeding with firm pressure
* Call emergency services immediately

⚠️ Heavy rain + rushing = unnecessary trauma.

Drive like everyone forgot how to drive in the rain… because they probably did 😅

Doctor’s Orders:

* Footwear matters: Weekend heels + long walks = ankle injuries.
* Charge your phone & share location if going out.
* Don’t ignore warning signs: Chest pain, severe headache, confusion, fainting → seek medical help immediately.
* Plan your ride home before you leave.
Enjoy the weekend — but make it to Monday in one piece.

* Loss of consciousness (even briefly)
* Severe head, neck, or back pain
* Heavy bleeding
* Difficulty breathing
* Confusion, vomiting, or drowsiness
* Obvious broken bones or deformity

* Monitor breathing
🩹 If Injuries Seem Minor:
* Apply ice to bumps (15–20 minutes)

* Apply firm pressure to bleeding wounds
👀 Watch for Delayed Symptoms (Next 24 Hours):
* Worsening headache
* Vomiting
* Dizziness
* Increasing pain
* Unusual behaviour
If any of these develop → seek medical care immediately.
