*** Question: Should we continue (or even start) exercising as we get older? ***

Answer: ABSOLUTELY!

Here's some reasons why:

πŸ’ͺ Muscle Mass: Regular exercise, especially resistance training, can help older adults maintain and even increase their muscle mass, which tends to decrease with age.

🦴 Bone Health: Weight-bearing exercises like walking, jogging, and weightlifting can improve bone density, reducing the risk of fractures and osteoporosis in older individuals.

🧠 Brain Health: Physical activity has been linked to improved cognitive function and a reduced risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and dementia.

❀ Heart Health: Exercise can help maintain cardiovascular health by improving blood circulation, lowering blood pressure, and reducing the risk of heart disease.

🦡 Joint Mobility: Engaging in regular physical activity can help keep joints flexible and reduce the risk of joint-related issues like arthritis.

πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ Metabolism: Exercise can help maintain a healthy weight and boost metabolism, which tends to slow down with age.

πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ Balance and Stability: Activities like yoga and tai chi can improve balance and coordination, reducing the risk of falls among older adults.

πŸ₯° Mood and Mental Health: Physical activity can have a positive impact on mood by releasing endorphins, reducing stress, and promoting a sense of well-being.

πŸ‘΅ Longevity: If that's not all studies suggest that people who are physically active tend to live longer and have a higher quality of life in their later years.

Remember it's never too late to start exercising. Even if you haven't been active in earlier years, starting an exercise routine in later life can still offer numerous health benefits πŸ‘

If you're starting a new exercise routine, or don't know where to start consult with your friendly team of health professionals who can guide you through it πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈπŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ™‹
