Featherbrooke Optometrist opened its doors in 2003. Spectacles are not always the answer to your eye fatigue, headaches and eyestrain.

We pride ourselves in our customer service and high quality optometric consultations and carefully selected frames and sunglasses. We have introduced punctum occlusion (a procedure to help reduce dry eye), foreign body removal (for those unexpected accidents) and binocular vision consultations (here we assess the ability of the eyes to work together. Vision Therapy is advised in these cases). Our consultations takes up to 1 hour depending on your vision needs and includes a photo of the retina (for early detection of any underlying eye disease).

Featherbrooke Optometrist opened its doors in 2003. We pride ourselves in our customer service, high quality optometric consultations (including full assessment of the anterior and posterior segment of the eye), and carefully selected frames and sunglasses.

Optometrist: Lanie Blignaut.

Lanie attended the University of Johannesburg where she graduated with a Baccalaureus in Optometry degree in 2010. After graduation Lanie joined the practice and has been working here ever since. She is passionate about what she does and takes great pride in giving excellent service.

What is eye care? It is the prevention or minimization of threats to the eye or visual integrity.

TESTS

At Featherbrooke Optometrist a comprehensive eye test consists of:-

Determining your prescription for spectacles or contact lenses

To detect common eye diseases, such as Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Degenaration and Dry Eye Syndrome etc.

To assess how your eyes work together (Binocular Vision)

To evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health

SUNGLASSES

Long term exposure to UV rays can damage the eye’s surface as well as the internal structures, sometimes contributing to Cataracts (clouding of the lens) and Macular Degeneration (break down of macula). We take great care in ensuring your eyes are protected when you have fun outdoors with friends and family.

CONTACT LENSES

Full range of contact lenses available, an appointment is required to ensure the best vision and fit to suit your lifestyle.
