OPITO adopts Shoulder Breadth Measurement certification to enhance offshore helicopter safety

OPITO has formally adopted the Shoulder Breadth Measurement (SBM) certification framework, previously overseen by Step Change in Safety, into its globally recognised product portfolio. The process ensures offshore workers with broader shoulder widths are accurately measured and appropriately seated, reducing evacuation risks and supporting consistent safety standards across the energy sector.

Introducing the ladies at our Namibian facility in Walvis Bay. Both born and raised in this beautiful country on the brink of greatness in the oil and gas industry.

Annelise Schoonbee, the centre manager, is the organiser and driving force behind your entire experience, from the initial call, to you epic teatimes and lunches, to your departure with your certificate. She brings extensive knowledge of HR, Payroll, and office management and comes from the fishing industry.

We are pleased to introduce Victoria Shapata as our Namibian Academic Director, responsible for ensuring all training interventions meet and exceed the minimum requirements of our approval bodies.
Victoria possesses extensive academic and maritime knowledge and will gladly pass all this knowledge

She will play a crucial role in the transfer of skills to Namibians, aiming to make Namibians internationally employable with recognised certification.

Namibians must train Namibians, a non-negotiable principle.

They appear so delighted in the posted pictures, which we shared twice. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
