Polyps are small growths within the lining (endometrium), inside the uterus. Polyps are common and are usually found in women aged 20 years and over. Although Polyps are usually not cancerous, you should still be evaluated by an Ob/Gyn. Polyps are easy to remove and do not usually grow back
Fibroids are benign tumours, arising from the smooth muscle of the uterus. Fibroids are described by their location in the uterus—within the uterine wall, extending into the uterine cavity, or on the surface of the uterus.
Each condition causes symptoms that can negatively impact a woman’s quality of life. If you’re experiencing any symptoms, you should consult with your Ob/Gyn.
