South Africa has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world but the good news is that skin cancer is highly preventable and treatable when detected early.
Prolonged exposure to the sun’s UV rays can cause permanent skin damage and increase your risk of skin cancer, including melanoma.
☀️ Protect your skin by:
-Using sunscreen (SPF 20–50) and reapplying regularly
-Avoiding direct sun exposure between 10am and 3pm
-Wearing protective clothing, hats, and UV-protective sunglasses
-Checking your skin monthly for new or changing moles or marks
Early detection saves lives. Be sun smart not just this summer, but all year round.
