Some laughter yoga to lift my spirits - a special after Christmas gift to myself.
Nothing worse than sitting alone in my flat after Christmas- waiting for New Year and then 🤷‍♀️?
So now that my mood has shifted I get to ask myself - what do we get to do next?
At the end of the day only we can improve our lives moment by moment, we get to change our thoughts and feelings about our circumstances in a second.
It’s always our choice!
I hope my short video clip got you laughing along with me. 🤭

Talking about embodying our triggers so that our bodies give us the answers to what needs to be healed , versus trying to work it out in our heads.
Feeling our emotions is all about 5D!
A reminder to work on our habits and perhaps walk away from relationships that no longer serve us as we come to the end of the year of the snake which was all about shedding!
2026 is the year of the horse, let’s leave behind what we don’t need in 2026.
This video is long so if you want to watch the rest of it please pop over to my page Shirley duPlessis Holistic coach. I will leave the link 🔗 in the comments.

I was pretty hard on myself yesterday for not keeping my promises to myself and not being my word around things I say I am committed to.
Today while being quiet and listening to my inner voice I was guided to pull a card from my Saints & Angels deck by Doreen Virtue.
I pulled the card ‘steady progress’.
In our spiritual life it’s steady progress that counts - not perfection!

Not everyone needs to be “out there”

I was triggered earlier by being told one thing and then the person did something different.
It brought up a lack of safety and trust.
I used the modality EFT to clear it - and you can see by the yawns I had, I cleared a lot. There were about 15 yawns in all (thanks to edit you do not see the whole process).😂

After releasing the energy I brought in the concept of flexibility, a wiggle room in case circumstances change and the ability to accept the changes.

HOW YOUR TRIGGERS REVEAL YOUR INNER WOUNDS
(A Buddhist perspective on healing and awareness)

Every reaction you have… every moment you feel overwhelmed, anxious, angry, or hurt… is not just a mood. It’s a message.
In Buddhism, we learn that nothing arises without a cause. Your triggers are not flaws — they are teachers pointing you toward the parts of yourself that still need compassion, understanding, and healing.

✨ If you get defensive when corrected
It often comes from past criticism that made you feel “not enough.”
Buddhism teaches Right View — to see clearly without ego. Healing begins when you learn to listen without taking every word as an attack on your worth.

✨ If you panic when people pull away
This rise of fear is the echo of old abandonment wounds.
The Buddha taught that attachment brings suffering. Healing doesn’t mean you stop caring — it means you stop believing that someone leaving means you are unlovable.

✨ If you hate being ignored
This comes from childhood neglect or feeling unseen.
In Buddhism, the practice of metta (loving-kindness) helps you give yourself the attention, respect, and love you never received.

✨ If you overreact to small mistakes
This is perfectionism rooted in shame.
The Dharma reminds us: Everything is impermanent. Mistakes are just passing clouds — not your identity. Be gentle with yourself.

✨ If you feel anxious when others are upset
You may have grown up walking on eggshells.
Buddhism teaches calm abiding — the ability to stay centered even when the environment is turbulent. Their emotions are theirs. Your peace belongs to you.

✨ If you fear saying “no”
This comes from people-pleasing and rejection trauma.
Boundaries are an act of compassion — both for yourself and others. Even the Buddha said “Protect your own mind first.”

✨ If you get jealous easily
These feelings arise from low self-worth and comparison wounds.
The Buddha taught that comparing yourself steals your joy. When you understand your own unique path, jealousy dissolves into gratitude.

✨ If you shut down in conflict
This often comes from unsafe environments where speaking up led to pain.
Healing requires relearning safety. Communication infused with mindfulness becomes a path to freedom, not fear.

✨ If you crave constant reassurance
This grows from insecurity and old betrayals.
In Buddhism, true security comes from within — through self-trust, inner stillness, and knowing your own heart.

---

Your triggers are not your enemies.
They are your guides.
They show you where your heart is still asking for healing.

Every time you pause, observe, and soften rather than react, you walk the Buddha’s path — a path of awareness, compassion, and liberation from old suffering.

Heal gently.
Grow patiently.
And remember: The mind can be your greatest prison or your greatest freedom — depending on how you train it.

Reflecting on gender based violence and extending an invitation to you, to work with me if what I have said resonates with you or has struck a cord.
You are not alone in this.

After a weekend of doing shadow work and dealing with old programs that cause havoc in my life - I took myself off to sit in nature this morning.
Something so soothing and calming to be amoungst all the trees.
After over an hour of sitting on a bench in this area , I eventually moved off feeling restored.
