It is housed in a historic building in Southernwood, East London, where it has been a medical practice for over 50 years. Drs Cook & Boliter Inc is proud to continue the tradition of providing high quality eye care to the widest possible cross section of the community. Areas of recent and ongoing research include glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, refractive surgery and cataract surgery.

📢 Important Update for Our Discovery KeyCare Patients – Effective 1 January 2026
From next year, KeyCare members will now need a KeyCare Specialist Authorisation before visiting an ophthalmologist.
This means:
• You’ll need to get a specialist referral/authorisation from your nominated GP (or network optometrist) before your appointment.
• Without a valid authorisation, the medical aid will not fund the visit.
•
To avoid any delays or unexpected costs, please make sure you have your KeyCare Specialist Authorisation ready when booking or arriving for your appointment.
