MEC for Health and Wellness, , together with Future4Baby will celebrate the miracle of life at Leratong Hospital as newborns arrive on New Year’s Day. Beyond welcoming the first babies of 2026, the MEC will engage parents on vital topics such as the importance of breastfeeding and timely immunisation to ensure a healthy start for every child.

Far East Rand Regional Hospital have welcomed 12 babies on Christmas day, we have delivered 6 boys and 6 girls between 0h00 and 23h59 on the 25 December 2025. The first baby is a female and she was delivered at 02h15 and the last baby is also a female delivered at 22h45.
Congratulations to the mothers and their new babies.🎊🎊🎊

"🎄❤️ 'A sprinkle of joy, a dash of love, and a whole lot of cheer 🥰' Today, we're thrilled to bring smiles to the faces of our tiniest heroes born on this special day! 🎁👼 Our CEO Sonwabo Lindani and MMC Andile Mngwevu had the honor of spreading Christmas magic to the newborn babies at Far East Rand Regional hospital.

Mr Mngwevu after surprising the new borns with goodies wished all the Christmas babies and their families a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness! 🌟

Security officers on duty also got their goodies from the generous MMC.
