Give preterm babies a strong start for a hopeful future"

This year's theme echoes WHO's Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures campaign. It reminds us that every child deserves a fair chance at life, starting from their very first moments.

Far East Rand Regional Hospital invited former prem patients and their parents to celebrate this day and for parents to share the journey.

Today Far East Rand Regional Hospital conducted Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to three departments (ANC, Ward 5 & 6 ) who received patient compliments for good services received in these units. These areas were visited staff members encouraged to continue serving with a Smile. CEO Mr Sonwabo Lindani stated that our people are at the heart of everything we do so as executive are committed to creating a workplace where compassion meets excellence - where every team member feels valued, supported, and empowered to make a difference. Together, we are determined to advance health, inspire growth, and build a culture of care in the hospital.

At Far East Rand Regional Hospital, we proudly join the nation in supporting the Pink Drive-a campaign dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer prevention, prostrate screening, and care. Under the theme: Early Detection Saves Lives. This initiative reminds us that health education, regular screening, and community support are powerful tools in the fight against cancer.
Breast cancer can affect anyone — regardless of age, gender, or background — but with early detection, lives can be saved, families preserved, and hope restored.

The Pink Drive will be at our facility tomorrow for the following services:

1. Mammogram X 25 clients age 40 years old and above (booking needed)
2. Pap Smear X 50 clients age 20 years old and above for HIV Positive clients and 30 years old and above for HIV Negative clients (booking needed).
3.Clinical breast examination X 60-80 clients for men and women ( First come first served).
4. PSA (Prostate cancer testing clients) X 60 members age 40 and above (first come first served)

NB: Booking to be done physically or telephonically at our Out Patient Department and Osizweni Clinic.
