Most patients are surprised when told that tinnitus is a common complaint 📯

More than 45 million Americans experience tinnitus. That number has been on the rise since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, as an estimated 15% of people who become infected with COVID-19 will experience tinnitus!
Contact us to schedule an evaluation if you start experiencing tinnitus following a COVID-19 infection. While it may not be possible to make the tinnitus go away entirely, there are many different management options.

“What hearing aid is the best one?”🧐

When it comes to hearing aids, there is no single best device for everyone.
There are a lot of factors that go into which hearing aid is the best for each individual person.
Hearing loss, lifestyle, higher level brain functioning, dexterity, finances, cosmetics, and personal preference are all important things to consider when choosing the “best” hearing aid for a patient.🤩
When you schedule a hearing test and hearing aid consultation appointment with us, we discuss all of these factors and more to help you decide what hearing aid would be the best pick for you!

Good hearing has a strong impact on emotional and physical health. Research shows that healthy hearing reduces the risk of falls and can help keep us mentally sharp. Be proactive. See a hearing professional every year.

Mr. Ear from Cure shares an interesting fact about ears 👂:

You can never “turn off” your ears. Your ears never stop hearing even while you’re asleep.

However, even though you are hearing while you are asleep, the brain does not process sounds in the same way as it does when you are awake. Thus, your ears will always hear and process sound regardless of your state, whether you’re conscious or unconscious, your ears never get a day off!

Thankfully, the human brain learns to ignore the sounds so that you can sleep soundly.

🩸Diabetes causes blood sugar levels to fluctuate too high or too low.🩸
Over time, these changes damage the nerves throughout your body, including in your ears! A person with diabetes is twice as likely to have hearing loss as someone the same age, who does not have diabetes. Pre-diabetes increases the likelihood of hearing loss as well!
If you have diabetes, monitoring your hearing is as important as monitoring your eyes or your feet for diabetic complications.
Schedule an appointment with any of our listed audiologists today for a hearing test to see where you’re at!

In today’s virtual world, many young people are glued to their tech devices: smartphones, tablets, computers, video games. While headphones can contain the noise, making the home a little more peaceful, always check the volume. 🔇

At the highest volume setting, most technology can produce sounds at 105 dB or higher!

This volume can damage hearing in as little as 5 minutes! If you can hear the sounds playing from your child’s earbuds or headphones from a few feet away, the volume is too loud.

A good rule of thumb is to never raise the volume above halfway.

At half volume or less, your children can safely listen for hours if they want to.

It's important to identify hearing problems in babies and children as early as possible. 👶

The goal is for all babies to have a newborn hearing screening by 6 weeks of age. Outcomes are far greater when any problems are detected and managed accordingly early on.

Get peace of mind - we are here to help with your little one. 👂
