We have a wide variety of sheepskins and products, and this range is for the “safe players”. There are often requests for these slightly darker colours, especially from clients who are concerned about sheepskins showing dirt or staining.

The good news is; we have these options BUT also that our sheepskins still contain a certain amount of lanolin. Lanolin is kind to skin, but also helps prevent stains.

Our skins are easy to clean and care for. Spot cleaning is also always a first go-to, which is quicker, easier, and better for your Geduldsfontein Wools product! However when a more intense wash is needed, we’ll guide you through it with the precise instructions coming with your product.

The Science of Comfort: Wool’s Hygroscopic Power 🐑

Did you know that wool is one of the most technically advanced fibres in nature? Wool's hygroscopic properties allow it to naturally absorb up to 35% of its own weight in moisture vapour from the surrounding air.

That's what hygroscopic means: the ability to attract, absorb, and retain moisture.

Wool can do this because of its amazing structure. A wool fibre's exterior, the epicuticle, is water-repellent. A wool fibre's interior, the cortex, on the other hand, loves water (in scientific terms, the cortex is hydrophilic).

This dual-system means wool absorbs moisture in the cortex yet stays dry on the exterior.

Here's how: wool absorbs moisture as vapour, before it turns into liquid. This allows wool to release heat during that process. This "heat of sorption" is a natural chemical reaction that provides a buffer against cold, clammy environments. It's dynamic, too: wool is doing this while you wear it!

C U D D L E G O O S E

The Geduldsfontein Cuddle Goose is a one of a kind plush toy / soother / body pillow, nearly endless in usage possibilities!

This was a brainchild raised on our farm for a long time. At the time having three kiddies under 4, we had to think of all stages. The CUDDLE GOOSE is therefore so versatile, and another product that grows with you little one from birth to who knows when.

We often use ours instead of bedrails, instead of head pillows and as a trusty companion. The pillow can be removed when Goosie needs a wash. We’ve even seen one of our little clients packing her pj’s in it’s body when she had her tonsils removed!

The CUDDLE GOOSE is easy to travel with as it can fold and fit snug in our drawstring bag.
