This pregnancy awareness week, we at Swan Studios wanted to share some interesting facts about pregnancy:
🤰Pregnancy can lead to changes in a mother’s voice. However, researchers found that the maximum decrease in pitch after pregnancy was 2.2 semitones.
🤰In rare but well-documented cases, fetuses have been known to cry in the womb—a phenomenon called vagitus uterinus.
🤰During pregnancy, the uterus is capable of stretching up to 500 times its original size. Often compared to the size of a watermelon🍉
🤰During pregnancy, a woman’s blood volume gradually rises by 30–50%, meaning that by full term she has about 1.5 liters more blood circulating than before pregnancy.
🤰Molecules from the foods you eat enter your bloodstream and pass into the amniotic fluid. As a result, flavors from a mother’s diet are transmitted to the amniotic fluid in the womb and later to breast milk after birth. The senses of taste and smell are closely linked.
