Step‑Up with OTGrow

Our second cohort is in full swing, and the energy is inspiring. Since July, 7 OTs have been crediting their discipline and consistency to the accountability pods; peer groups designed to keep each other on track. These pods are proving powerful: members are showing up, staying focused, and now moving into the exciting stage of designing their own group therapy programmes.

It’s incredible to see how collaboration and support are shaping real progress. If this journey resonates with you, keep an eye out for applications opening in early 2027.

Activity-based group work in OT is gaining momentum, and it’s a direction worth supporting. In many mental health settings, psycho-educational groups continue to play a valuable role, often facilitated by other MDT members.

This shift is creating space for occupational therapists to focus more intentionally on what makes our contribution distinct: group work rooted in activity, task, and occupation. These sessions offer therapeutic depth, engagement, and relevance, not as a replacement for psycho-education, but as a complementary and essential part of holistic care. At OTGrow, we believe this is a moment to reinforce the value of occupation-centred group work and ensure it remains a strong, visible part of OT practice.
