The MEC for Social Development, Ms. Mbali Shinga, was present yesterday ,February 1, 2026, to pay her respects at the funeral service for the late Mr. Lindani Magasela, held at the Magasela family home in Nhlungwane, near Ulundi. The entire community mourns the tragic loss of 18-year-old Mr. Magasela, who was fatally stabbed in Ulundi.

The MEC attended the funeral to convey heartfelt condolences to the Magasela family and to stand in solidarity with them.
“The passing of Mr Magasela is a painful loss not only to his family, but also to the broader community. We extend our deepest sympathies and assure the family of our continued support,” said the MEC during her remarks at the funeral
