Chiropractic & Disease Prevention
Musculoskeletal disorders, including chronic lower back pain, neck pain, and certain headache disorders, are among the leading causes of disability globally.
Chiropractic is a regulated allied health profession that focuses on the diagnosis, management and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, particularly those involving the spine.
Early assessment and appropriate management of spinal dysfunction may assist in reducing the risk of chronic pain progression, improving mobility, and supporting long-term functional health. Preventative strategies may include posture education, movement advice, rehabilitation exercises, and manual therapy.
Chiropractic care is often incorporated into broader healthcare plans aimed at maintaining musculoskeletal health and reducing recurrence of mechanical pain conditions.
In South Africa, Chiropractic is regulated by the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa.
Only practitioners who hold approved qualifications and are registered with the AHPCSA may practise lawfully.
