It Takes 3 Minutes to Know What’s Normal
Men’s health starts with simple habits — and one of the most important is the monthly self-check for testicular health.

It only takes a few minutes, and it can make all the difference.
Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Warm up.
Do the self-check right after a warm bath or shower. The warmth relaxes the skin, making it easier to feel any changes.
Step 2: Use both hands.
Gently roll one testicle between your thumb and fingers. Feel for any lumps, swelling, or hardness. Don’t panic if one feels slightly larger — that’s normal.
Step 3: Repeat on the other side.
Check the second testicle the same way. You’re looking for new or unusual changes compared to what’s normal for you.
Step 4: Know what’s normal.
You’ll feel soft tubes at the back — that’s where s***m is stored. Those are meant to be there.
Step 5: If something feels off, don’t wait.
Book a visit with our resident Urologist.

Early checks save lives.
It’s that easy — a quick, private habit that protects your health.

Prostate cancer is cancer that occurs in the prostate. The prostate is a small walnut-shaped gland in males that produces the seminal fluid that nourishes and transports s***m. Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer.

A blood test called a prostate specific antigen (PSA) test measures the level of PSA in the blood. PSA is a substance made by the prostate. The levels of PSA in the blood can be higher in men who have prostate cancer. The PSA level may also be elevated in other conditions that affect the prostate.

As your doctor about the test.

Breast Cancer Affects Men Too

Many don’t realize that men can also develop breast cancer. While rare, about 1 in every 100 breast cancer cases occurs in men — often diagnosed late because it’s unexpected.

Men should look out for lumps, ni**le changes, or skin dimpling and seek medical advice early. Awareness saves lives, no matter your gender.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, let’s break the stigma and encourage early screening for everyone.

Heritage Day – Celebrating Our Diversity

Heritage Day is a special reminder of the rich cultural tapestry that makes South Africa unique. It is a day to honour our traditions, languages, histories, and the diverse communities that together form the heartbeat of our nation.

For South Africans, Heritage Day is not only about looking back with pride, but also about embracing unity in our diversity. It is a chance to reflect on where we come from, celebrate who we are, and commit to building a shared future based on respect, understanding, and togetherness.

Whether through food, music, dance, storytelling, or simply gathering with loved ones around a braai, this day reminds us that our heritage is living, dynamic, and deeply connected to our sense of identity.

Let’s celebrate what makes us different, and what brings us together.

Give the Gift of Life: Be an Organ Donor

Each day, hundreds of South Africans face dire circumstances, waiting for someone to say "yes" to organ donation. Today, more than 4,700 people—including children and adults—are on the waiting list for a life-saving organ or cornea transplant in South Africa

Yet, only about 0.2% of South Africans are registered organ donors, a number that speaks volumes about the urgent need for awareness and action

Here’s why registering matters: One donor can save up to 7 lives, and transform the futures of more than 50 people through tissue donation

South Africa’s deceased donor rate stands at worrying 1.4 donors per million people, placing us among the lowest in the world

Encouragingly, South Africa is the only African country with active deceased donor programs, underscoring our capacity—and responsibility—to lead the way

How you can help:
Register—visit the Organ Donor Foundation at www.odf.org.za or call 0800 22 66 11 to sign up (it only takes a few minutes)

Talk to your family—your organs can’t be donated without their consent, even if you’re registered. Make your wishes known

Share this post—help us spread awareness and encourage others to register and discuss their wishes. Let’s transform awareness into action.

Together, we can help make a lifesaving difference.
