Renowned registered substance abuse treatment centre situated on the Blyde Canyon in South Africa.

Jahara Treatment Centre is a rehabilitation centre dealing with drug addiction, alcohol addiction, process addictions and eating disorders.We are focused on bringing restoration and recovery to those struggling with addiction.

We had a great time at the street party yesterday. Awesome little fun walk, Sanata giving gifts to the kids, our band doing carols and of course a Braai.

What a way to start the Christmas celebrations.

So we are in our last week for the year of building the Creche - hoping to get the roof on (although it may be a little ambitious 😃).

The guys have done some solid work over the last 3/4 weeks - digging foundations, fighting rain, throwing graduation parties, throwing slabs and now building the walls.

From sun rise to sunset the guys have put their blood sweat and tears into this project and should be jolly proud of what they have achieved so far.

Project will commence after new year where larger teams will be sent for all the finishing work.

Can’t wait for the community Christmas evening here in Kampersrus. Carols, fun run, Santa and a movie. As well as good food and drink for everyone.

A quick video of the progress with building the Crèche.

Foundation were dug in very rocky soil. Floors have been done.

We also cleared the area for the playground and dug the sand pit.

Bathroom walls were mended and built up and a roof put over and doors made and installed.

So far so good.

Just a quick little video of the graduation party Jahara helped to throw for the kids at the Crèche where we are working. This outreach has been amazing. The support we have recieved has been overwhelming.

The building continues (update video to follow). We managed to assist with the party - DJ, Jumping Castle, Sweets, Cold drinks, chicken and pap and veg, face painting the works.

We even managed to pay for the studies of the owner so she can become qualified and we paid a Christmas bonus for the volunteer staff there.

Nothing brings joy more than giving joy to others - this festive season lets all go out and spread a little joy to others.

We are so excited

This is our last BIG outreach project for 2025. And as always we are going BIG. This crèche is being built from the ground up - 3 classrooms, one office, upgraded bathrooms, new jungle gym, upgraded kitchen the works.

Also new tables, chairs, mats, stationary, books, toys and family packs of food and clothes for the kids and their families.

But wait there’s more! We are hosting their graduation party next week - music, jumping castle, sweets, cold drink and chicken and pap and veg. We are expecting 200 community members and many many kids. It is going to be AWESOME.

And then just so we spread the love some more the chief has identified another 20 families in desperate need for many reasons - child headed households, grandparents and elderly, the sick and most vulnerable. These families will also recieve big support packs of food and clothes and toiletries.

So come people. Let’s share some love this time of year. Let’s clean out those cupboards, send up some stationary, donate some books or send some cash. Every little bit helps and helps in a BIG way.

This is a story of transformation. A project of recovery. A journey of service.

Jahara residents help hoedspruit Rotary every year with their Kruger to Canyon bike race which raises money for serving the community.

This year they donated a generous amount to Jahara of R20,000.00. In the background we had been blown away by the residents who had identified that Daaniel, the caretaker of the church next door, needed an upgrade to his house.

And so as the donation came from Rotary we were immediately aware of where those funds needed to go. And so the updating of the house began as part of the MRT program.

A team of residents got set to building and upgrading. We cannot be prouder of the job. What you can’t see is the inside cupboards and ceilings and kitchen that was also built.

From a desire to help. To serving at a bike race to help the community. To recieving such a generous donation. To having resident put their blood sweat and tears into the project. To the final outcome. A home to be proud of an to enjoy.

Well done to the residents for serving. Recovery makes society better.

Now onto our next big project.
