Good afternoon. Just an update to all who has been surporting Andre as well as the family. We appreciate all the support tremendously, emotional support, all the prayers aswell as to those who contributed financially. Although Andre is showing some progress he is still in ICU. Andre was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome. A kidney disorder that causes the body to excrete too much protein in the urine. Nephrotic syndrome is often caused by damage to small blood vessels in the kidneys that filter waste and access water from the blood. The Drs had to drain both the lungs from access fluid. He still has some swelling of the hands ankles etc due to water retention. Andre has started physio aswell. He managed to take n few steps with aid but still gets tired very easily. Andre gets treatment for a n ulcer on his coxis as well, which also had to be drained . He will be going to theatre on Friday for another procedure to the ulcer. I will be updating on this matter after further discussion with his medical team for more facts regarding this procedure . Andre still has a long road ahead for a full recovery Thank you to everyone who has to date contributed financially.
