This Friday, 21 November, Roodt Made by Nature will close our studio and pause all operations as we join the National Women’s Shutdown in solidarity against South Africa’s ongoing GBV crisis.

As a brand born from motherhood, gentleness, safety, and the protection of our homes and bodies, we cannot stay silent.
We stand with the women, children whose voices deserve to be heard and protected.

By stepping back from work and economic activity for one day, we join the millions calling for urgent, meaningful action to end femicide and gender-based violence in our country.

We encourage you to join uswhether through pausing your work, limiting spending, wearing black, lighting a candle, or simply taking a moment to honour those affected.

The littlest Roodt turns seven today and he is the reason Roodt Made by Nature exists.

When I became a cloth-nappy mom, I needed products that were truly gentle, safe, and simple enough to use on little Milan’s skin and caring for our cloth collection. Creating them opened my eyes to something bigger: how much plastic we throw away, how easily we overconsume, and how deeply the things we put on our skin and use in our homes really matter.

From that awareness, a new way of living was born one rooted in eco-minimalism. A way of choosing less, choosing better, and choosing products that can do more than one job in a busy household. I learned that the simpler life is, the calmer it feels. And that multi-use, low-waste living isn’t just good for the planet… it’s a kind of peace.

And it all started with one little boy turning seven today.
