World Autism Awareness Day – 2 April 2026

World Autism Awareness Day is observed every year on 2 April to increase understanding, acceptance, and support for people living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Autism is a developmental condition that affects how individuals communicate, interact socially, and experience the world. It is called a “spectrum” because it presents differently in each person—some individuals may need significant support, while others live independently.

This day reminds us to:

-Promote inclusion and acceptance
-Encourage early diagnosis and intervention
-Support individuals with autism and their families
-Celebrate neurodiversity and the unique strengths of people with autism

Let’s work together to create a more inclusive and understanding environment for everyone.

Abaqulusi Private Hospital would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation and sincere gratitude to the AbaQulusi Local Municipality, led by the Honourable Mayor, Cllr SE Mkhwanazi, for the memorable and compassionate visit to our Maternity Ward on Valentine’s Day, 14 February 2026.

It was truly an honour to welcome the Mayor and his esteemed entourage as they joined us in celebrating the precious new lives born on this special day. Their presence brought warmth, joy, and a strong sense of community support to our new mothers and their families.

We deeply appreciate the thoughtful gesture of donating essential newborn supplies, including bath tubs, wipes, nappies, and other baby care items. These contributions will undoubtedly assist our mothers as they embark on the beautiful journey of parenthood. Such generosity reflects genuine care and commitment to the well-being of families within the AbaQulusi community.

On behalf of the Board, Management, staff, and the mothers of Abaqulusi Private Hospital, we extend our sincere thanks to the Honourable Mayor and the AbaQulusi Local Municipality for choosing to spend Valentine’s Day spreading love in the most meaningful way, by welcoming and supporting new life.
May this be the beginning of many more collaborative initiatives that uplift and empower the families of AbaQulusi.
