I know what it's like to have a body that feels sluggish, tired and overweight...

I know exactly what it's like to feel overwhelmed, anxious and filled with doubt...

I also know what it's like to bring balance back into my body and light back into my life ✨

I get that most of you feel that good health and living the life you deserve is out of your reach - When I weighed 92kgs and was battling with irregular blood pressure, pre-diabetes, constant heartburn, constipation, fibroids, anemia, eczema, elevated anxiety, depression along with continuous panic attacks - getting healthy seemed to be out of reach for me too...

All I had to do was take my first step towards making better choices for my health and then I followed it up the next day, and then the next - as my fatigue diminished and the brain fog cleared it became even easier to navigate this path of healing 🀍

Getting healthy and finding balance is a process...
It's a journey...
It's one step at a time...
And you are worth every step 🫢🏻

Are you aware that bell peppers are highly nutritious, boasting up to six times more vitamin C than oranges! They are considered excellent for strengthening the immune system, boosting eye health, reducing brain fog, and providing potent antioxidants that aid in reducing inflammation and cardiovascular health πŸ«‘ 🌢️

*Stuffed Bell Pepper Wedges*

*Ingredients*

ΒΌ cup finely chopped or grated onion
3 medium potatoes
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
ΒΌ tsp red pepper flakes or cayenne
1 tbsp fresh oregano or thyme leaves or 1 tsp dried
2 ripe bell peppers, cut into thin wedges

*Directions*

Preheat the oven to 350Β°F/180Β°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Place a medium ceramic skillet on medium-high heat and add the onion. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until soft, adding a bit of water if needed to prevent sticking.

Grate the potatoes and squeeze out any excess liquid. Add the potatoes, garlic powder, paprika, red pepper flakes or cayenne, and oregano or thyme to the pan. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes to remove some of the moisture. Set aside until cool enough to handle.

Press the potato mixture firmly onto bell pepper wedges and arrange on the baking sheet. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top has browned.

Serve immediately and enjoy πŸ˜‹

There is a beautiful documentary called *"What the Bleep do we know?"*

The premise of this documentary is "that the universe is best seen as being constructed from thoughts and ideas... That matter is not solid, and electrons are able to pop in and out of existence without it being known where they disappear to."

But only watch if you are open to explore a space you might never knew existed - one where ALL possibilities exist ✨

Hey Mango πŸ₯

*Did you know?*

Eating a mango before bed restores neurotransmitters that aid insomnia episodes whilst the antioxidants and minerals reduce stress, support the skin and combat pathogens πŸ’ͺ🏻

Mangos are a true miracle food that act as a potent sleep aid, antiviral agent and brain supporting nutrient dense fruit πŸ˜‹

Here's a breakdown of all their benefits -

*Miracle Sleep Aid* Mangoes contain phytochemicals and amino acids (glycine, glutamine, cysteine) that, when combined with natural sugars, travel to the brain to restore depleted neurotransmitters.

*Antiviral & Immune Protection* Mangoes are effective against viruses and help protect the body against stress-induced damage.

*Brain and Nervous System Support* They provide essential glucose and trace minerals to the brain, helping with cognitive function.

*Gut Health & Digestion* The pulp acts as a soothing agent for the stomach and intestinal lining, helping to alleviate constipation.

*Blood Sugar Management* Despite being sweet, they are considered a helpful tool for managing hypoglycemia and type 2 diabetes by stabilizing blood sugar.

*Mineral-Rich & Anti-Cancer* Rich in beta-carotene, they help prevent various cancers, including skin, lung, and prostate, while providing highly bioavailable trace magnesium.

*Exercise Recovery* They are an ideal "exercise food" because they provide essential sodium, glucose, and magnesium to muscles, reducing fatigue and pain.

And eating food that heals is where true health lies 🌈

*The emotional impact of pain*

Pain is a very personal experience, along with the fact that each person has their own unique experience with the levels of pain they are able to endure

Societal factors can impact and affect pain such as age, gender, culture, beliefs, emotional response, prior experience, support system, access to care and health disparities.

Additionally changes in status, routine, employment, sleep disturbances all contribute to how well one can effectively minimise pain.

"Pain is influenced by emotions and the cycle of pain and emotions are interrelated"

https://www.hss.edu/conditions_emotional-impact-pain-experience.asp

For example when one is anxious or angry the muscles may tighten and cause further or increased pain. So it's very evident that pain management is more than just physical rehabilitation and medications.

Modalities such as:- counselling, reiki, rife, body talk, acupuncture, emotion code release, cranial sacral massage, reflexology, TRE, TENS and meditation can offer much balance to the emotions that are further creating an increase in tension and pain.

You have one life... You deserve to live it well and without pain ✨

*What are you doing to feed your soul*✨

We speak a lot about food and it's effects on your body, but what about thoughts and emotions? These can also impact the body in a very negative way!

Are you spending your days filled with positive thoughts or are negative thoughts influencing your behaviour?

If you look at the word "Emotion" - in quantum physics it means 'Energy in Motion', so when your thoughts are negative they effectively become like a stream of negative energy that flows into your nervous system causing imbalance.

Think of the days that you slept through your alarm and started off your day in chaos - didn't chaos then follow you?

So it's important to guard your thoughts every day 🌷

- start every morning with a meditation as this will set the tone of your day
- do mindful tasks throughout the day like sitting in the garden, playing with your pets, dancing to music - just be in the moment
- find a creative outlet
- when stress or negativity get you down - detach from the situation, go outside and breath!

Once you start making a concerted effort to be aware of your thoughts you will find it easier and easier to reframe them. Don't concentrate on trying to change the negative emotion though, instead increase a positive emotion!

Focus on something that brings you joy currently in your life, and by doing this you will change the emotion into something positive and uplifting!

The benefits that are found in the humble artichoke are quite astounding especially if you have been diagnosed with diabetes, hyperglycemia or kidney / gall stones. Artichokes aid to heal internal scar tissue and are incredible at protecting the body from consistent exposure to any forms of radiation!

"Energetically, artichokes are considered revitalizers that aid in clearing emotional and physical "sluggishness". They represent a protective exterior shielding a soft heart, symbolizing vulnerability, nourishment, and detoxification" - traditionally associated with love, fertility and protection 🀍

*Steamed Artichokes*

*Ingredients*

6 large artichokes or 10 small artichokes

*Honey-thyme dressing*

1 Β½ tbsps raw honey
2 tbsps freshly squeezed lemon juice
ΒΌ tsp mustard powder
Β½ small clove of garlic, finely minced or grated
1 tsp fresh thyme leaves or Β½ tsp dried thyme

*Directions*

*To prepare the artichokes*

Remove any leaves from the stem (not the petal-like leaves of the artichoke itself) and peel off the stem’s woody exterior. Trim the end of the stem, and rub with a lemon segment to prevent browning. Cut off the top quarter of the artichoke and rub the cut artichoke leaves with lemon. Snip off the pointy tips of remaining artichoke leaves.

Fill a pot with about 3 or more inches of water, and place a steamer basket into the pot. Steam artichokes, covered, for 35 to 45 minutes, until the stem is fork-tender and outer leaves are easily peeled.

Allow the artichokes to cool, then slice in half lengthwise and use a spoon to scoop out the choke. Arrange the steamed artichokes, cut side up, on a plate.

If making the Honey-Thyme Dressing, whisk or blend the honey, lemon juice, mustard powder, minced garlic, and thyme leaves in a medium bowl until smooth.

To serve, drizzle each artichoke half with the desired dipping sauce. Serve immediately.
