I am a born empath with a passion to help people reach their full potential by bringing balance to the body, mind and soul. During my own healing journey I experienced an awakening which enhanced my inherent abilities further and has allowed me to become a stronger healer and intuitive reader. My inborn passion is to help facilitate the healing of anyone I meet and it's with this care that I have created Roots Therapy. I want to get down to the root cause of the problem so that my clients can experience true healing - healing that is steadfast and restorative. All of my healing techniques are energy based, including the easy-to-follow nutritional advice and the herbal supplements that I may recommend. Having a BA Degree in Psychology I am very adept at counselling my clients through their trials and tribulations, with my number one goal being the complete balance between the body, mind and soul!

Holidays come with many obstacles when trying to navigate your pathway to health and healing โœจ

I hope you find the following tips useful to assist you in navigating your way through the tinsel, toasts and festivities ๐Ÿค

- opt for lean cuts of protein (chicken, fish and ostrich are great options)
- choose loads of veggies over the meat trimmings
- incorporate potatoes / sweet potatoes / butternut / pumpkin as main dishes to bulk up your meals (roasted, mashed or steamed)
- choose sauces that are low fat ie vinaigrettes, roasted veg, tomato based sauces
- create desserts using dates and maple syrup
- think fruit when wanting to eat something sweet
- hydrate, hydrate, hydrate: stick with the morning protocol of lemon water, celery juice and your smoothie plus incorporate cucumber juice and watermelon slushies!
- skip the champagne and create a signature sparkling drink using a dash of good quality tequila with sparkling water and pomegranate kernels

Creating memories need not incorporate a heavy creamed, fatty meal - think fresh salads, roasted vegetables and clean protein ๐Ÿ˜Œ

*Hello Chakra's - Tell me how you're doing?*

Are you aware that your body's nervous system is intricately connected to your emotion centre?

Your nervous system has wheel-like vortices all over the body (114 of them in fact) and they interact with our outside environment as a self preservation mechanism -

These 'energy centres' are our communication centre with the cosmic energies of our environment. They are what make up the chakra system and it's in this system that brings complete balance to your mind, body and soul โœจ

Any blockages or imbalances in these areas will affect your ability to manifest and create! When out of balance we experience health issues or recurrent life themes ๐ŸŒผ

So let's get familiar with the 7 main Chakra's that lie along the spine:

This centre is located at the base of your spine and represents your physical well-being.

In balance we are connected to nature and it's natural ebb and flow.

Creamy and comforting this tasty pasta bake fits in well on any festive table ๐Ÿฅฎ Plus it's filled with healing ingredients to help you continue along your path of balance โœจ

*Pumpkin Pasta Bake*

*Ingredients*

3 cups chopped pumpkin
1 cup water
1 pack gluten-free pasta
1 medium-sized red onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 tbsps roughly chopped sage
2 tsp finely chopped rosemary
2 tbsps tomato passata
1 15-oz can crushed tomatoes
1 cup water
Sea salt (optional), to taste
Freshly ground black pepper (optional), to taste
ยฝ cup gluten-free or chickpea breadcrumbs

*Directions*

Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). If you are using chopped pumpkin, place the pieces on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven for about 20 to 25 minutes or until browned and tender. Once roasted, blend the pumpkin with the water until smooth and set aside.

Meanwhile, cook the gluten-free pasta until 2 minutes short of al dente (still relatively hard), then drain and set aside.

While the pumpkin is roasting, place a large ceramic non-stick skillet over medium heat. Sautรฉ the red onion until it becomes translucent, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the garlic, sage and rosemary and continue to sautรฉ for another 1 to 2 minutes, until fragrant

Next, add the tomato paste to the skillet. Cook, stirring continuously, for 1 to 2 minutes, until it gets slightly darker in color. Pour in the can of crushed tomatoes, followed by the cup of water. Allow the sauce to simmer for at least 15 minutes to develop its flavors. Pour in the pumpkin mixture and season with sea salt and black pepper (if using). Mix well.

Once the sauce is ready, combine it with the cooked pasta, making sure the pasta is evenly coated. If the mixture seems too thick, add additional water to reach your desired consistency. Transfer the pasta mixture to a baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top of the pasta, creating a light, even layer. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy. Once done, remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Humming is something I find myself doing naturally when I'm needing to concentrate on a task or to reduce my anxiety ๐Ÿค”

Humming has tremendous benefits as it:-

* reduces stress
* enhances your breathing
* improves heart rate viability
* lowers blood pressure
* stimulates and regulates the vagus nerve
* clears sinuses
* improves your mood
* relieves pain
* deepens meditation
* encourages relaxation
* mental clarity
* lowers anxiety
* supports sleep
* strengthens immunity

It has been shown that humming 3-4 times a day (aiming for 5 minutes at a time) is a wonderful way to bring about changes and enhance your well-being!

Cherries are absolutely amazing when it comes to revitalizing our liver - they are the ultimate liver tonic, cleanser and rejuvenator ๐Ÿ’

A handful of cherries can be so healing when wanting to promote healthy haemoglobin, sharpening the mind and alleviating constipation!

*Let's talk chronic dehydration!*

How much water do you drink each day?

How many fresh, raw fruits and vegetables do you consume?

If youโ€™re properly hydrated, your body can remove toxins and poisons from your liver, kidneys, and other parts of your body but the majority of people today are chronically dehydrated, even if they donโ€™t realize it or even feel thirsty.

For those that have participated in the *369 Challenge* you have been introduced to how important hydration is when needing to heal your body!

There are many reasons why you want to remain hydrated :-

* dehydration causes your blood to thicken which will affect your cardiovascular system wearing out the heart muscle and increasing risk of stroke activity
* cancer thrives in dehydrated conditions as less oxygen circulates through the body
* liver detoxification is severely affected in a body that is under hydrated
* viruses and bacteria thrive in chronic dehydrated bodies
* anxiety, panic disorders and depression increase when the body is dehydrated
* gallstones thrive in a dehydrated environment

Coffee, soda, alcohol, high sodium and a diet high in fat and sugar reduce the body of much needed hydration!

There are many ways to rehydrate using good, quality water, cucumber juice, lemon water, coconut water, watermelon slushies and eating fresh raw veggies & fruit ๐ŸŽ

Enjoy the following recipe to aid in regulating your hydration when socializing plus it adds much flair to any festive setting!

*Champagne Mocktail*

*Ingredients*

1 cup coconut water
3/4 cup sparkling mineral water
2-3 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
1/4 cup pomegranate seeds (optional)
Lime slices, to serve

*Directions*

Combine the coconut water, sparkling water, lime juice and maple syrup in a jug. Mix well. Pour into champagne glasses and serve immediately with pomegranate seeds (if using) and lime slices.

Serves 2-3

Let me ask you this question - What is your current vibration?

Each emotion that we experience has an equivalent vibration and it's this vibration that speaks to every cell in your body, and it's from this level of awareness that your body will respond -

Nikola Tesla famously remarked that "If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration."

Are you vibrating at a low level - feeling a sense of overwhelm, anxiety and even perhaps depression?

Or are you vibing high?
Feeling joyful, grateful and excited about life โœจ

To get into a state of high vibration requires you to do a few things, such as -

* living in the present moment
* feeling gratitude for your life

*Let's talk about weight gain*

Weight gain is a sign of imbalance and inflammation! Let me repeat that... Weight gain is a *SYMPTOM* that your body is struggling and has become inflamed ๐Ÿ”ฅ

There are 5 reasons you experience weight gain and this is caused by:

* FATS
* SUGAR
* TOXINS
* PATHOGENS
* STRESS

No amount of dieting will remedy this in its totality... Don't get me wrong, diet is important however it's only 30% of what you need to do in order to bring your body into a balanced state!

Weight gain is symptomatic of a distressed liver - and a liver that is burdened by fats, sugar, toxins and pathogens is a liver that cannot bring balance into your body! Add stress onto this boiling pot and you can bet your bottom dollar that the weight will never shift ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ
