*Today is Meditation Monday*

Meditation allows your soul the chance to speak ✨ It also quietens the mind so that you can listen...

When you go into a meditative state ie. your mind is less busy, your breath is flowing evenly and your attention has drawn within - you allow your mind, body and soul to align. It's during meditation that you are closest to your true self and its in this state where a peaceful happiness rests. If you can bring yourself into this state every morning and evening, and hold it for a minimum of 20 seconds - you will find true peace 🦋

Today I am including a meditation that can assist you in creating your best life! Helping you to manifest your dreams by bringing a pause to find presence - Enjoy 💫

"When we don't return to baseline, stress accumulates in the body creating a wear and tear within your system" - J. Bobby

Did you know that living in the fight or flight response is often the biggest imbalance of hormones and the reason most woman suffer so much with PMS and menopausal symptoms 😖

Stress response is an automatic expression and can provide a challenging process when it comes to resetting - however the vagal nerve controls 80% of this process and is therefore a great asset at calming the whole system down. As we have previously discussed *breathwork* is one of the most effective ways to do this! Slow rhythmic breathing sends a powerful message to our nervous system that you are safe 🫶🏻

Here's a lovely podcast which speaks about why breath and mindfulness matters 🌈

One of the biggest health issues the body faces is *DEHYDRATION* - most times symptoms amp up due to the lack of essential fluid and electrolytes in your body. When you feel exhausted, often just hydrating will pick up your energy ⚡

One fruit that is literally prized for its hydrating qualities is *watermelon* - it has recently been recognized as the *performance fruit of 2026* - well done big guy!!! 🍉 😲

Watermelon also contains the amino acid L-Citrulline which:-

* improves blood flow
* enhances excercise performance
* lowers blood pressure
* reduces fatigue
* supports muscle recovery
* aids immune function
* assists wound healing
* treats mild erectile dysfunction

Be sure to add it to your weekly routine!

Let's get serious! Let's talk *insecurities*!

We all have them - they may just show up in different ways...

8 years ago I was a VERY different person with a gazillion insecurities! And no that ain't an exaggeration - my insecurities ran incredibly deep and were fueled by past trauma and catastrophic thinking (you know the thoughts that lead you into a dark rabbit hole of chaos and paranoia) 🫠

However I noticed that many of these insecurities were calmly addressed as my healing journey unfolded and the voices of doubt were silenced 🤫 The freedom felt when they began to melt away was so palpable and so powerful ✨

You too can begin your journey to address your insecurities by embracing a few techniques and practices that will help you understand your inner world and get to know your true self -

* meditation
* journalling
* daydreaming
* body scan
* art therapy
.. are all wonderful ways to bring awareness and begin the untangling 😌

And when doubt is high here's a sweet song that reminds you of your worth 🫶🏻

Love truly is a wonderful feeling..
It's lovely to give love and to be loved...
But what does it mean to have self-love?

Self-care is so important for a balanced life and a form of care is falling in love with every aspect of our self 🫶🏻

In holistic healing we phrase this as doing "shadow work" where we shine the light on those parts of us that are hard to look at in order to find compassion and acceptance for our past mistakes - leading us to truly understand our heart so that we can live alife of higher purpose ✨

Here's a beautiful meditation that is designed to take you into the shadows of self so that the light can illuminate your soul -

On Wednesday I posted about breathwork and today I'd like to include a short video that melds fascia movement and breathwork together by incorporating diaphragmatic breathing -

*"Diaphragmatic breathwork (or "belly breathing") is a deep breathing technique that engages the diaphragm muscle, rather than the chest, to increase lung capacity, lower blood pressure, and reduce stress"*

The benefits of this technique include:-

* stress and anxiety relief
* aid in managing symptoms of COPD, asthma and shortness of breath
* helps with chronic pain management
* improves core stability and enhances vocal support
* manages chronic constipation and GERD

There are no limits to establishing great health when you are incorporating the correct foods in which your body needs in order to maintain balance and ultimately heal ✨

However there are a few food choices that are considered the 'Holy Grail' and when added to your daily diet create an alchemy of vitality, longevity and success along your path of healing!

- *Celery Juice* Considered the most powerful medicine, 16oz of straight celery juice on an empty stomach helps repair the gut, improve digestion, and reduce inflammation.
- *Wild Blueberries* Labeled "resurrection food," these are highly effective for removing toxins from the brain, protecting against aging, and treating neurological issues.
- *Cilantro* A key component of the "Heavy Metal Detox," it acts as an antidote for heavy metal poisoning, removing mercury and aluminum.
- *Garlic* Acts as a natural, potent antiviral and antibacterial agent that helps fight pathogens.
- *Ginger* Known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, it supports digestion and helps with symptom relief.
- *Leafy Greens (Spinach/Kale)* Highly alkaline and nutrient-dense, they are essential for restoring the immune system and supporting the liver.
- *Melons* Described as "pre-digested," they are intensely hydrating and packed with antioxidants, making them perfect for cleansing.
- *Apples* Used to cleanse the colon and fight pathogens.
- *Asparagus* Referred to as a "fountain of youth" food that supports liver function.
- *Sweet Potatoes/Potatoes* A comforting, grounding food that helps reduce inflammation and is beneficial for healing.
- *Dates* Regarded as a potent "antiparasitical" food that cleanses the digestive tract by binding to and sweeping away pathogens, yeast, and heavy metals.

It's in our breath... But what does breathwork truly mean?

Stop right now and take a moment to focus on your breath. Let your eyes close and just notice where the air enters your nostrils... And you will notice after a time, when your breath starts to slow down, that you in turn slow down...

Now many of us aren't even breathing properly - most of us breathe from the top of our chest in short rapid successions instead of deep in our belly in long slow breaths. When we are breathing quickly this signals our body that we are under stress and this is interpreted as *DANGER* - and a stressed body never heals!

The following is a great excercise you can do to see if your body is in fight or flight and this can be done purely with the breath as your breath is directly controlled by the autonomic nervous system, so it’s one of the fastest ways to detect stress. :-

1. Settle the body
- sit comfortably and soften jaw
2. Breathe normally
- don't change speed or depth
3. Time 1 minute
- set timer and count each breath (inhale and exhale)
4. Record the number
- note how many breaths per minute

*What these numbers mean*

6-10 Breaths: calm and regulated
11-14 Breaths: mild stress and alert
15 - 18 Breaths: Stress response activated
19+ Breaths: High stress / survival mode

Did you know that *meditation* comes in a variety of different forms - it's not just sitting cross legged saying 'OM' 😌

The idea of meditation is to *stop the momentum* so any practice or modality that brings about a pause from the hustle and bustle can be used to bring about the same sense of calm presence!

Think about the times you were 'lost' in a task - we often feel this when we are engaged in something creative 🎨 When you paint, dance, sing, crochet, walk, cook - in other words when you allow yourself to be present and only focus on what you are doing - can be just as effective as meditation! Journalling is another way to bring your focus within and calm the inner storm -

Today I've included a wonderful guide that was shared with me by a very special friend of mine which she found hugely helpful as a prompt for her to journal with intention ✨
