IS A CAESARIAN DELIVERY (C-SECTION) UNGODLY?
Long but important post!
In the last post about our Daughter’s birth, We testified to the fact that it was supposed to be a Caesarian Birth but miraculously it was a natural birth. In my heart I knew that some mothers who have undergone a C section will read.
If you check the Post I wrote that I CONSENTED to a C-SECTION delivery.
Was it a lack of faith?
What is the Will of God ?
LIFE is very PRECIOUS to GOD and so PROCEDURES that save lives ALIGN with his Heart.
The MIRACLE at the end of the day is the Baby and the mother’s life.
After being around the labor ward and room, I realised that labor is a very fatal process in whatever way ( Natural or Caesar). Your prayer is not just for the baby to come but for the mother to come too.
Both Natural and Caesarean deliveries are not easy.
In looking for a job one person may apply once and get the Job, another may apply and wait for days and later get the Job.
The miracle is not in how they got their Jobs but it’s the Jobs they got.
I consented to C section because for me it was all about my wife’s life and my daughter’s life. We believed God for a natural birth and thank God We had it that way.
If we Had it the C-section way, We would have still written to thank God for a safe C-section delivery.
The Miracle and the blessing is the baby and the life of the mother!
What does the bible say about C-Section?
Is it godly?
* The Bible does not directly mention C-sections, but there are principles and examples we can draw from.
* Life is precious to God, so procedures that save lives align with His heart.
* Medical technology can be used ethically for good purposes.
* Christians have liberty in areas the Bible is silent on IF PRAYER and WISDOM are applied.
* God is sovereign over conception, pregnancy and childbirth. We can trust His guidance and timing.
* Mothers should be supported with love and grace not guilt or shame.
The first key principle is that human life is precious to God. He is the author and giver of life.
There are no direct mentions of C-sections in the Bible. However, we do see examples of God intervening to bring children safely into the world.
For instance, Genesis 35 records the birth of Benjamin, Jacob’s twelfth son.
His mother Rachel went through an incredibly difficult labor and died giving birth.
The passage simply says her life departed as her soul was departing. We are not told exactly why she died. It MAY have involved complications that TODAY could potentially be remedied by a C-section.
The Bible leaves some areas of life in the domain of PERSONAL CHOICE and WISDOM. When the Bible gives no explicit moral directives, Christians have liberty to follow their conscience before God.
Apostle Paul writes:
One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.” Romans 14:5
Likewise for a C-section, since no verse prohibits it, the choice comes down to personal discretion. A mother can pray and seek wisdom from the Holy Spirit and counsel from doctors. As long they make a prayerful, informed decision they can have a clear conscience before God.
Please do not listen to “Papa’s” that will make you feel Caesarean delivery (C section) is ungodly and a lack of faith! Don’t!
Mothers already face immense pressure to have perfect pregnancies and births.
I saw it on my wife’s face when they said this will be a C section. I looked at her and I told her “whichever way God gives us Zariah, we will accept it, your life and Zariah’s life is the Miracle.”
So we continued believing God for a natural birth meanwhile I signed the C section Papers, no one forced me.
Listen carefully, When complications occur that require medical intervention like a C-section, Christian mothers may feel personal guilt or shame Or they may be shamed by others in the church, This should not be the case.
We live in a fallen world where medical complications are an unfortunate reality. Doctors perform C-sections when they are deemed medically necessary or advisable.
Mothers in these situations should be met with compassion, grace, and practical support, not guilt, judgement or condemnation.
They themselves also should know that there’s nothing wrong with bringing a baby to the world through C-section.
God knows the medical circumstances leading to each decision.
As believers, we need to offer support and encouragement to mothers without laying extra religious burdens upon them. God’s grace is sufficient to cover any feelings of pain, regret or perceived failure. Mothers can rest knowing that the miracle is their baby’s and their lives. That’s the miracle!
Medical knowledge is expanding rapidly. Procedures like C-sections can be an amazing blessing when they save the lives of mothers and babies.
Congratulations C-Section Mothers!
Congratulations Natural birth Mothers!
You are both heroes.
We love you and God loves you
